Working in the city
I work in the heart of the Perth CBD. My commute is around 45 - 50 minutes via train, or over an hour by car. Needless to say, I travel by train as much as I can. Somedays it's easier to drive, but with both of my kids now going into full time primary school, my commute will look a little different.
If you spend some time going through my gallery, you'll notice that a lot of my street / people images are taken around the train station. It's a great place to shoot. The rush of people on their commute, the pattern of shadows on the floor of the station, the constant movement. It's easy to get caught up and just watch life going by.
Walking from the train station to one of the stores I manage takes about 20 minutes, and there's a few different routes. Getting to see snippets of the city, you never know what you're going to see. The above image was shot on a Fujifilm TX1 (same as a Hasselblad Xpan) with a 45mm lens on Fujifilm Acros 100 film. The people playing basketball in Weld Square were enjoying the open area, and were definitely more than a little competitive with each other!
I'm looking forward to sharing more images from around Perth, both film and digital.
